Pure romance – the worlds most famous ruine

Heidelberg Castle

Situated high above the Neckar River and the old town is the majestic Heidelberg castle: The world famous castle ruins of the Prince Electors. Built over many hundreds of years. With the Ruperts Palace being the oldest around 1400. As the years passed the construction continued with each Prince Elector out doing the last. The Ottheinrich's Palace being the first Renaissance building said to be the most beautiful Renaissance building north of the Alps.

In the wine cellar you will find the world’s largest wine barrel. Frederick V. had the English palace built for his lovely Bride the English Princess Elizabeth Stuart

Converting the big tower into a Shakespearian theatre. And constructing the Hortus Palatinus.
